Avila Theatre brings Intimate Apparel to the Stage

Intimate Apparel by by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage, directed by Teresa Leggard, will be presented by 海角直播鈥檚 Theatre program, February 20-23rd at the Frantze Family Blackbox Theatre on Avila Campus.

鈥淲e are so excited to bring this production to Avila this February during Black History Month,鈥 said Matt Schwader Harbor, Assoc. Prof. of Theatre, Dir. of Performance Studies and Chair of the School of Performing Arts. 鈥Intimate Apparel is an important piece in the history of American theatre, bringing a richly layered Black woman鈥檚 experience to the stage in a way that has long been underrepresented. Esther鈥檚 journey is one of love, ambition, and self-determination, and her story continues to resonate today.鈥
